Panthers Ride Ground Game To Win Over Blue Devils - Brevard, NC

Breylan Owens fights for extra yards following a short reception in Friday's road game against Franklin. Owens finished with 64 yards receiving on the night, including a 28-yard touchdown catch.

It wasn't fancy, but it was highly effective.

The Franklin Panthers stuck to the ground game, rushing the ball 63 times for 475 yards, and dominating time of possession as they defeated the Brevard Blue Devils 28-12 Friday night.

From their opening drive, it was clear the Panthers intended to run the ball and utilize their ground-and-pound style attack.

Brevard received the opening kickoff, but only mustered one first down before quarterback Mitchell Johnson was sacked as he dropped back to pass on third down, forcing a punt.
