Free Document Shred And Drug Take Back Day Set For Nov. 7

Transylvania County Triad and Entegra Bank will partner to sponsor a free document shred and drug take back event on Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Entegra Bank at 2260 Asheville Highway in Brevard.

Entegra Bank will have a shred truck on site to provide free document shredding (past tax records, bank records, medical documents, etc.) for its customers and residents of Transylvania County. The day’s mission is to help the community and especially the elderly better protect themselves from scams, frauds, identity theft, abuse and theft.

Community groups and organizations part of TRIAD Transylvania County: DSS - Adult Protective Services, Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office, Brevard Police Department, Land of Sky Regional Council, WCCA, Edward Jones, Walgreens, AARP, Mission Health, numerous service providers and many more. TRIAD’s mission is to reduce the criminal victimization of older adults by working to decrease unwarranted fear of crime and improve safety and quality of life for all seniors in our community.

TRIAD volunteers, Entegra Bank employees, law enforcement, and service providers will staff this event and be on hand to answer questions, plus provide resources materials on how to protect yourself from identity theft, fraud and scams.
