Report Cards Are Failing

Years ago the North Carolina General Assembly, decided that public schools needed to be held more accountable. Thus, for the past several years, public schools in North Carolina have received their own report cards from the state.

While some of the best schools in the state may receive an “A” and some of the worst receive an “F,” the manner in which the grades are determined are neither comprehensive nor transparent and may well give an inaccurate perception of the quality of instruction occurring within any given school.
