Friends Of Library Book Sale A Success - Brevard, NC

November 2, 2017

The 28th Annual Friends of the Library Book Sale held in October was a success to the credit of many people. The Friends are extremely grateful to all the people who donated books throughout the year, the large number of volunteers who worked countless hours to set up, man and take down the sale, and the hundreds of visitors who came to the sale and purchased books.

“This is a major undertaking and our biggest fundraiser during the year,” said Friends president Alice Hardy. “It takes a lot of hard work and support. And each year our volunteers and our community come through for us.”

The sale netted more than $12,000 this year, all of which will go toward supporting the many free programs and activities that are provided throughout the year at the library. Hardy adds that her organization is always seeking new members. Those interested in becoming members of the Friends of the Library (FOL) can get information at the circulation desk at the library.

For those still looking for books to purchase, the Second Story Book Store, run by FOL volunteers and located in the library, is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
