'Circle Mirror Transformation' To Be Staged At County Library On Nov. 21 - Brevard, NC

November 13, 2017

The 2017 Bag Lunch Arts Series continues in November with “Circle Mirror Transformation,” a play presentation by members of Looking Glass Playhouse. The program begins at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 21 in the Rogow Room at the Transylvania County Library and is made possible by the Friends of the Library.

“Circle Mirror Transformation” is by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Annie Banks. The action of the play takes place in a small town community center. During a six-week acting class, the five characters’ inner lives are revealed through a series of theater games. The program will last approximately 75 minutes.

Looking Glass Playhouse is a small acting company based in Brevard, dedicated to performing a wide range of work – from the newest, young playwrights to the classics. The company is comprised of some of the area’s favorite performers including Mark, Sandi and Andy Thompson; Nita Porter; Amy Shute and others. Claudia Carter Covington is the founding member of the group. She acted professionally and served as literary manager for Charlotte Repertory Theatre for 20 years before moving to Brevard.

The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Transylvania County Library. Proceeds from Friends’ memberships, the annual Book Sale, and from Second Story Book Room sales help pay for all of the programming at the Library. There is never a charge to attend programs and the public is invited to bring along a bag lunch to enjoy during this program.

Refreshments for Bag Lunch are provided by the Friends and include cookies and coffee from Blue Ridge Bakery. For more information, call the Transylvania County Library at (828) 884-3151.
