Egolf Motors Partners With Sharing House Christmas Program - Brevard, NC

November 23, 2017

Egolf Motors is partnering with Sharing House's Christmas Blessings program to collect Christmas gifts for children. (Left to right) Ryan Shipman, Jennifer Shipman, Jay Egolf and Brandon Newman decorate the company's tree with envelopes bearing suggestions for someone to buy gifts for. The tree is located in the auto shop's waiting room, and Egolf is eager to receive donations anytime during business hours.

The showroom at Egolf Motors on Asheville Highway in Brevard is festooned with dozens of "Kids Community Christmas" flyers, asking auto and truck shoppers for toys and gifts for children up to 18 years old.

The campaign was born in one of the company's weekly "social meetings," where employees brainstorm ideas on how to be more involved with the community, according to Egolf President Jay Egolf.

"We filled a 55-gallon drum with food for Bread of Life. We gathered 64 coats for Sharing House, and now we want to help provide gifts for the 800 needy kids that Sharing House is expecting," he said.

The waiting room Christmas tree is still being decorated, but the company is broadcasting its appeal to customers and friends through its Facebook pages and other electronic messaging.

Gifts may be of any value up to $50. Parents usually prefer to select several gifts of lesser values in order to have more items to open Christmas morning. Sharing House will provide gifts up to $50 total value, a packed Christmas stocking, and a stuffed animal.

Unwrapped presents may be delivered anytime during business hours. They will be delivered to Sharing House's Santa Shop at the Oakdale and Duckworth entrance. Shar-ing House usually has trouble gathering enough gifts for teens, who like clothing, cosmetics and gift certificates.
