Edwards Announces Second Term Candidacy

On Tuesday, N.C. Rep. Chuck Edwards, a Republican who represents the 48th District, announced his candidacy for a second term in office.

In 2016, according to a press release, he earned 56 percent of the vote in a three-person race for the district, which includes Transylvania County. He won the general election when he received 62 percent of the votes, beating his Democratic challenger and Transylvania County resident, Norm Bossert.

Bossert has indicated he will again seek his party’s nomination for the seat.
