Audit: County Revenues Increase

Transylvania County received a clean financial audit during the Board of Commissioners’ regular meeting last week.

Kari Dunlap, with Martin Starnes & Associates, gave an overview of the county’s financial report for the 2016-2017 fiscal year, which ended June 30.

Among the findings, revenues in the county’s general fund jumped from roughly $47.1 million in 2016 to roughly $50 million in 2017. During the same time period, the county’s expenditures increased from about $46.5 million to about $47. 3 million.
