Remembering Cotton Mill Town

I was excited when I read about the railroad station in the paper.

It brought back so many thoughts. I would tell you a few things from my memories.

I was born and raised in what was called Cotton Mill town. That was where the workers lived that worked at Pisgah Mills. The street was called Upper Cotton Mill Street. We lived in a little white house, four rooms and a bathroom with no bathtub.

The boys had a self-made ballfield. Girls like, myself, sat and dreamed about their future. My parents were Burt and Alice Grogan. They raised five girls and one boy. They are all gone to be wi...
