Quiet Time For Crime Reported

Local law enforcement reported a fairly quiet Christmas weekend in Transylvania County.

“This year has been so quiet, it’s scary,” said Eddie Gunter, chief deputy with the Sheriff’s Office. “Our call volume was way down and only a few reports taken.”

A similar low volume of reports between Dec. 22 and Dec. 25 was reported by the Brevard Police Department.

N.C. Highway Patrol Sergeant Brent Hipp said there were two traffic-related accidents in the county during the period.
