Editor’s Note: During a recent Transylvania Natural Resources Council (TNRC) meeting, Yvonne McCall-Dickson, a local Native American historian and continuing education professor at Blue Ridge Community College, spoke about the impact the Cherokee had on the river valley, their lifestyle and how they shaped the landscape.
