Hannah Cabe squares up for a long two-point shot in the first half of the Lady Blue Devils' game against Hendersonville Friday night.

It was a roller-coaster night for the Brevard Lady Blue Devils, but the ride unfortunately ended with another tough conference loss Friday night as they fell 68-57 to Hendersonville.

The Bearcats jumped all over Brevard early, but the Lady Blue Devils fought back to take a two-point halftime lead.

After a back-and-forth third quarter, Brevard put together one final push late in the fourth, but couldn't finish it off.

Hendersonville built a 10-0 lead after six minutes of play as Brevard was ice cold from the field in the opening minutes.

Finally, Cassidee Cali got the Lady Blue Devils going with a pair of 3-pointers on consecutive possessions.

The Bearcats took a 14-6 lead into the second quarter, but a pair of buckets from Hannah Cabe and Michelle Lopez cut the lead in half with 4:30 to go in the quarter.

After Cali drained her third trey of the night, Emma Berry came up with a steal and pushed the ball ahead to Cali on a fast break.

The freshman was fouled on the layup attempt, but knocked down both free throws to give Brevard its first lead at 17-16.

Cali followed that up with another 3-pointer moments later and a pair of free throws from Tristen Berry put Brevard ahead 21-16 with under 3:00 in the half.

The Lady Blue Devils led by as many as six points before Hendersonville cut the lead to two, 24-22, going into halftime.

Brevard maintained their slim lead in the third quarter before the Bearcats tied things up at 28.

Emma Berry responded with a 3-pointer from the corner, but the Bearcats went on a 5-0 run over the next minute of play to retake a 32-31 lead.

A free throw tied things up for the Lady Blue Devils, but another run – this time an 8-0 burst – gave Hendersonville their biggest lead since the first quarter.

Tristen Berry knocked down a pair of 3-pointers to cut the lead to six going into the final quarter.

Isabell Musser drew Brevard within four off a basket inside and, moments later, Cali knocked down her fifth 3-pointer of the night to make the score 46-43 with 7:00 to go.

However, the Bearcats put together another string of points courtesy of a 9-2 run, to move ahead 55-45 with just under 4:00 to play.

Once again, Brevard scrapped its way back into the game.

Tristen Berry scored four straight points to cut the lead to six before Cabe knocked down two free throws to make it 55-51 with 2:23 left.

Sophomore Tristen Berry drives to the rim for two of her 13 points against the Bearcats.

On Hendersonville's next possession, Brevard forced a turnover, but gave the ball back in transition, which ultimately led to an and-one on the other end for the Bearcats and stole the momentum away from the home side.

Brevard got as a close as four points following a 3-pointer, but would draw no closer down the stretch.

Cali led Brevard with 17 points – outdoing her 14-point effort against Franklin from the week before.

Tristen Berry finished with 13 points and Cabe had 12 points.

The loss drops Brevard to 8-13 overall and 0-9 in the Mountain Six.

The Lady Blue Devils close out the regular season Tuesday at home against Pisgah.
