Robert "Bob" Edward Cabe, 81, of Middlesex, N.C., passed away Feb. 4, 2018.

He was born in Brevard Dec. 28, 1936. He graduated from Brevard High School and continued on to receive a degree in business administration from Berea College.

He worked as a salesman and retired from Day Corporation. He enjoyed refereeing high school football, gardening, reading, attending Whitley Methodist Church and spending time with his friends and family.

He was affectionally known as "Daddy Bob," and the infamous "Booger" by everyone.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends following the service.

His parents James and Nettie Cabe and his brother, Jerry Cabe, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his brother, Thomas Cabe, and wife, Ann Dergara, of Brevard; sister-in-law, Pooh Cabe of Brevard; children, Robert "Robb" Cabe II, of Frankfort, Ky., Renee Cabe and husband, Paul Ziolek, of High Point, N.C., Rodney Cabe and wife, Rebecca Cabe, of Pine Level, N.C., and Scott Cabe, of Garner, N.C .; grandsons, James "Denny" Cabe, Christopher Cabe, and Zachary Cabe; step-grandchildren, Alex Green and wife, Janie and Ashley Nordan and husband, Ben; and many loving nieces, nephews and step-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Whitley United Methodist Church, 300 Wilson's Mills Road, Smithfield, NC 27577, or Berea College, CPO 2216, Berea, KY 40404.
