Recalling The Day 'The Marines' Hymn' Rang Out

It's odd how a particular sound or smell has the power to transport one back to a place in time when that person experienced that unique sound or smell.

For myself and, I'm certain, other aging Marines hearing "The Marines' Hymn" has such a power.

It still raises the hairs on the back of my neck and recalls the sights and sounds of an event that took place more than 50 years ago.
