Pisgah United Competes At Spring Classic

The Pisgah United U10 soccer team traveled to Lawrenceville, Ga. to compete in the Steamers FC Spring Classic soccer tournament over the President's Day weekend. This is the team's second tournament since they formed in September 2017. Pisgah United, lovingly nicknamed, PU, played teams from inner Atlanta and Lawrenceville/Duluth.They lost both games on Saturday on a cold and rainy day, but the sun came out Sunday and so did PU! They scored five goals in their 8 a.m. game, just losing to the local team by one goal.

PU coach Brad Toms said, "Even though we lost, it is a great value to play soccer against such skilful teams and expose our players to the wider world of soccer. We are improving their skills and the level of playing and coaching in Transylvania County."
