Dwayne Jeffery McCall, 53, of Brevard, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at his home.

A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Hubert Eugene McCall. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Eugene McCall and his brother-in-law, Mark McCall.

The fourth of five children to the McCall family, to know him was to love him. He never met a stranger. He was a very hard worker, had a great sense of humor and a heart of gold. He adored his family, especially his nieces and nephews, who affectionately referred to him as "Uncle Wannie."

He was also a big fan of bluegrass music.

Survivors include his mother, Edith Galloway McCall; his beloved, Fonda McCall; brother, Rev. Michael McCall and wife, Connie, of Balsam Grove; sisters, Marsha Henderson and husband, Dexter, of Balsam Grove and Cindy Ownbey and husband, Barry, also of Balsam Grove; many nieces and nephews; one special little girl, Kennedy Whitmire; and fur babies, Bentley and Josey.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Shoal Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Michael McCall, Rev. Buster McCall and Rev. Patrick Owen officiating.

Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018, in the chapel of Moody-Connolly Life Celebrations.
