Vietnam Veterans: Ray Pavlik: Choreography On The Kitty Hawk

Choreography has been defined as "sequences of movements of physical bodies." To Ray Pavlik, an 18-year-old Navy jet mechanic aboard the supercarrier USS Kitty Hawk CVA 63, the non-stop actions of launching and recovering aircraft were choreography.

In January 1965, Pavlik was assigned to VF-213, a squadron of 112 men who maintained 13 Phantom F-4s aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. The carrier played a significant role in the Vietnam War, stationed off the coast of Vietnam and conducting combat operations.
