Brevard's recently open-ed Workout Anytime celebrated its grand opening on Thursday, April 5, at 115 Forest Gate Drive in Pisgah Forest. Owners Jim and Charity Smith invited the entire Brevard community to join the celebration and tour the gym, meet the owners, staff and trainers.

The Smiths opened the doors to their club at the end of December and are proud to provide members of the community with top-of-the-line equipment and the convenience to exercise on their own schedule. Prior to opening, the couple had 600 presale members. Since their opening, they have more than doubled in membership size. The Smiths are ecstatic with the appreciation and interest in Workout Anytime from the community.

"After moving to Greenville from Illinois, Jim and I came across Brevard and fell in love with the community," said Charity. "We are so excited to be providing a much-needed fitness option to this welcoming and health-conscious community."

The Smiths had an interesting path to owning the Brevard Workout Anytime. The couple initially moved to the Southeast when Jim retired. As a very active couple, they wanted to spend more time outside and live an active and healthy life. Once settled in their new home in Greenville, Charity became a member of the local Workout Anytime gym. She instantly fell in love with the business model and environment.

"Working out has always been a big part of my life," said Charity. "Workout Anytime was a very affordable and enjoyable place to continue this passion."

While the couple did move to the Southeast for their retirement, the Smiths quickly realized that they missed being in business and decided that franchising would be a nice way to add structure to their lives. Knowing how health-conscious the community was and wanting to utilize their own passion for fitness, opening a Workout Anytime was a perfect option for their next step.

"Everything really fell into place with Workout Anytime, which made Jim and I feel very confident and comfortable with our decision," said Smith. "While we were surveying locations for our Workout Anytime, we learned that Brevard would be an option and instantly knew it was the perfect fit."

Though the couple initially moved to Greenville, after discovering Brevard and now owning a business in the community, they are excited to be officially making the move to Brevard and becoming full-time residents.

"We believe that in order to be effective business owners we need an all-hands-on-deck approach," said Smith. "We are excited to be members of this great community and always be available for our employees and members."
