The Academy Award’s best picture of the year, “The Shape of Water,” is a fascinating movie. I thought it a fairy tale at first, but on closer reflection I believe there are resurrection themes in the movie.

“The Shape of Water” follows a mute woman, Elisa Esposito (Sally Hawkins) who was found as a child beside a river with wounds on her neck. She grows up as an orphan and communicates with sign language. She works as a nighttime cleaning lady at a government research facility in 1960s Baltimore.
