Connestee Falls Property Owners Association (CFPOA) has announced the hiring of Jim Whitmore as the new GM/COO.

Whitmore is a member of the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) and Club Managers Association of America (CMAA). He is also a licensed community association manager with more than 25 years of experience in the field.

He was most recently the GM/COO at Pelican Sound Golf and River Club, in Estero, Fla., a country club community owned and managed by 1,299 residents.

The community was amenity rich with 27 holes of championship golf, a dry storage river marina and boat launch, tennis, pickle ball, bocce and two top caliber food and beverage outlets.

During his eight-year tenure at Pelican Sound, he oversaw three major capital improvement projects totaling $20 million, which significantly improved the two distinct clubhouse operations as well as golf course playability.

While doing this, he also improved owner satisfaction year over year for seven consecutive years, which was determined by survey results calculated by an independent third party professional firm.

Before his last position, he worked for Taylor Morrison, a top 10 national builder, as vice president of community operations for Southwest Florida, where he oversaw the customer service department, as well as overseeing 70 homeowner and condominium associations.

He also oversaw the community master planning process and construction of the community wide infrastructure and amenity packages.

Prior to becoming a successful manager, he had experience at all levels working within the hospitality profession, starting as a golf caddie and working his way up the ladder to his newest position at Connestee Falls. He graduated from Texas Christian University with a double major in real estate finance and accounting.

"I am honored and grateful for the trust and confidence the Connestee Falls owners have given to me to be the new GM/COO. I am excited to not only continue to promote Connestee Falls as the premier master planned community to both live and work in Western North Carolina but also to ensure that current and future owners enjoy an unparalleled level of service and hospitality," said Whitmore.

Jim and his wife, Michelle, a certified yoga instructor, are originally from Connecticut and New Hampshire, respectively. They have resided in Florida for the last 25 years and frequently vacation in North Carolina as it is their favorite destination when time permits. They have recently added a rescue yellow Lab puppy to the family who also enjoys the natural surroundings of Western North Carolina.
