Boerner Recognized As One Of State's Outstanding Volunteers

The North Carolina Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service has presented the 2018 Governor's Volunteer Service Award to three recipients from Transylvania County. Award recipients are The Friends of Silvermont, Don Ziegler and Barbara Boerner.

Volunteer Service awardees receive a certificate from the governor and a commemorative award pin. Awardees will also be recognized during the local Celebration of Volunteers on Monday, May 14, from 4 until 7 p.m., in the Rogow Room at the Transylvania County Library. The recognition program will take place at 5:30 p.m. during the event.
