Blue Devils Drop Close Contest Against Smoky Mountain

Brevard senior Kyle Williams proved up to the challenge against a tough Smoky Mountain lineup last Friday. Williams allowed just one earned run on three hits, nearly throwing a complete game.

The Brevard Blue Devils gave the conference-leading Smoky Mountain Mustangs a run for their money on Friday night, but came up just a bit short, falling 3-1 in a close ball game.

Brevard came out swinging, as Jay Smith crushed a leadoff double to left field that narrowly missed leaving the park.

Two batters later, Dylan Troyer singled to right field, driving Smith across the plate.

But the Mustangs answered in the top of the second with an RBI sacrifice fly that tied things up.
