Panthers Edge Out Lady Blue Devils In Extra Innings

Wilson's RBI would be the Lady Blue Devils' lone run on the night, as they fell to the Panthers, 2-1, in a tightly contested Mountain Six Conference showdown.

It was a game that one team had to lose – and unfortunately, it was the home side.

For eight innings last Wednesday, the Brevard Lady Blue Devils and Franklin Panthers showed why are they are two of the top 2A teams in the state, battling back and forth in a game that took on a playoff atmosphere.

Brevard was hoping to avenge a loss earlier in the year against Franklin and make a late push toward a Mountain Six Conference title, but an RBI single in the top of the eighth proved to be the difference as the Panthers won, 2-1.
