Civility And Common Ground

Gun violence is one of those issues to which people often respond viscerally. There are vehement arguments but little rational discussion. As a result, animosity between those with differing opinions grows and the common ground diminishes. The intransigence reaches a point where people simply quit talking to those with different opinions.
