Blue Devil Tennis Team Falls Short In State Finals

May 21, 2018

After another tremendous season, the Brevard Blue Devil tennis team came up just shy of capturing the ultimate prize on Saturday, falling to Carrboro 5-2 in the 2A dual team state championship match.

Brevard entered the title match 15-0 after defeating Salisbury 5-4 in the regional finals last week.

That set them up with a date against the Jaguars at the Piedmont Tennis Center in Greensboro.

Unfortunately, Carrboro moved ahead in singles play and Brevard was unable to come back in the doubles matches.

Liam Baer gave the Blue Devils a win – 6-1, 6-4 – in the No. 1 singles spot.
