Peggy Langa Recognized For 70 Years Of DAR Service

As a young woman living in Jersey City, N.J., Margaret "Peggy" Alma Fish decided that she wanted something to do. She was interested in joining a service organization.

On Jan. 26, 1948, her handwritten application, in duplicate, was received by the Registrar General, Ethel M. Tynes, at the DAR Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Her application was verified and approved on Feb. 6, 1948, based on her age being more than 18 years and her proof of direct lineal descent from Ephriam Fish, who had served as a private, corporal and lieutenant in the American Revolutionary War. Peggy was approved...
