TNRC Gets To See Courthouse Creek Logging Project Up Close

A recent field trip with the Transylvania County Natural Resources Council (TNRC) to the logging project off Courthouse Creek Road highlighted the "active management" that some have been talking about for years.

Courthouse Creek Road is located off N.C 215. Parallel to the road runs the headwaters of the French Broad River.

A 461-acre logging operation began there last year, with an end goal of creating early successional habitat for a variety of wildlife, such as grouse, bear, deer and turkey.
