Though Transylvania County has gotten drenched in rain, in comparison to adjacent counties it hasn't got hit the hardest.
"Overall, since Monday, Brevard has received 3.9 inches of rain, Lake Toxaway getting the most at 6.1 inches, and in Pisgah Forest, about 3 inches," said Doug Outlaw, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service (NWS), Wednesday.
Meanwhile, as of Wednesday morning, Hendersonville received 5.06 inches; Old Fort, 5.89 inches; Chimney Rock, 5.93 inches; and in McDowell County, 7.81 inches in 24 hours.
