Rice Street Community Garden Celebrates 7th Year

On the evening of June 2, Rice Street Community Garden celebrated its seventh growing season by throwing a party at the fellowship hall of St. Philip's Episcopal Church. The Spring Fling 2018 attracted a turnout of 48 volunteers and friends of the garden, who enjoyed a delicious dinner while supporting the garden and getting to know each other in an indoor setting.

Jayne Field, member of the garden's Steering Committee, oversaw preparation of the food and decoration of the hall. The dinner consisted of a Mexican-style dish of chicken, beans, and rice, a vegetarian entrée, and a green sala...
