Destination: Twin Falls

Twin Falls is a secluded, yet easy to access waterfall. Practice Leave No Trace when visiting local public lands. If you see trash, take it with you and dispose of it properly. As always, wear proper shoes and never explore above waterfalls.

This week's destination hike is Twin Falls in the Headwaters State Forest. This waterfall is at the headwaters of the East Fork River, one of the main cold-water tributaries of the French Broad River. An easy, flat, half-mile hike along an old logging road accesses Twin Falls after a drive down a dirt road that may be impassable for really low clearance vehicles.

Getting There

From Brevard take U.S. 276 south towards DuPont State Recreational Forest. Make a right on to East Fork Road and drive about five miles and make a left onto Busted Rock Road. Drive down Busted Rock Road until there...
