"Our 2018 summer music festival is breaking box office records," said Brevard Music Center President and CEO Mark Weinstein. "More audiences than ever before are enjoying diverse experiences in symphony, opera, chamber, jazz, blues, bluegrass and pops. We proudly add dance to the mix, as well as salute the 40th anniversary of New York's esteemed Young Artists Showcase with a visit from WQXR's Robert Sherman - a revered radio host who shares our mission of showcasing exceptional musicianship by some of the country's most talented emerging artists."

On Tuesday, July 17, the BMC Presents: Terpsicorps performance spotlights North Carolina's thought-provoking professional contemporary ballet corps in their debut appearance with BMC's summer music festival. Lead by Artistic Director Heather Maloy, Terpsicorps features acclaimed dancers from the most respected companies in North America.

On Thursday, July 19, Sherman brings his iconic WQXR Young Artists Showcase on the road for its first-ever appearance in Brevard at BMC's summer music festival. The July 19 WQXR Showcase - featuring Brevard Music Center student musicians-will be recorded live at Brevard College's Porter Center for the Performing Arts for subsequent public radio broadcast on New York City's WQXR, Asheville's BPR Classic and Charlotte's WDAV. Young Artists Showcase is currently celebrating its 40th year as a cornerstone on WQXR, New York City's only classical music station.
