More Steps Taken To Prevent Waterfall Fatalities In Area

This large sign at the entrance to Gorges State Park's Visitor Center details the dangers of waterfalls and steps that should be taken near waterfalls.

In an attempt to prevent another death at Rainbow Falls, the U.S. forest service and Gorges State Park have installed new signage at the trailhead leading from Gorges State Park to the Horsepasture River, and dropped a number of trees in a few key areas to keep visitors to the river from exploring out above Rainbow Falls, in addition to more signage leading up to the falls. The trees dropped are on U.S. Forest service property.
