Tuesday, July 24, marks the anniversary of the last time the federal minimum wage raised in 2009, and North Carolina has the same $7.25/hour minimum wage as the federal wage. Housing costs alone in Transylvania County have significantly risen over the last nine years, while lower end wages have not kept pace.
