At the July 16 Board of Education meeting, board member Alice Wellborn said she was “uncomfortable” with having to spend money for quasi-battlefield trauma kits that supposedly will be paid for by the state. Her discomfort was based on having to make a rushed decision and that the school system is having to pay the money upfront for a grant without knowing when it will be reimbursed.
