Visitation numbers to public lands in Transylvania County are up this year, but not by much, according to local land managers.
The Davidson River corridor remains one of the most visited areas of the region, according to U.S. Forest Service public information officer Cathy Dowd. Dowd said the Ranger district is showing about a 3 percent increase in visitation over 2017, which was the busiest year the Forest Service had ever recorded.
