Opening The 64 Corridor

At their meeting last Monday evening, the Transylvania County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to seek a $300,000 grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission and provide nearly $400,000 in county matching funds in order to install a sewer line from Gaia Herbs to Rosman along U.S. 64. This is a move in the right direction.

Not only would the sewer line help Gaia Herbs, but it also could benefit Smith Systems and any other established or future businesses along the U.S. 64 corridor. Homeowners in the area also could have the option to connect to the sewer lines.
