Edward Clinton Paxton, 75, of Brevard, passed away Aug. 5, 2018.

A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late A.M. Paxton Jr. and the late Marie Moore Paxton.

A volunteer with the Brevard Fire Department for 28 years, he also enjoyed his work as a volunteer with the Transylvania County Sheriff’s Department, and was a member of the VFW. He loved the outdoors and his garden, and cooking for his family. But he truly enjoyed fishing, whether deep-sea fishing off the coast, or off a pier.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Patsy M. Paxton; son, Jeff Paxton and his wife, Tricia, of Brevard; grandsons, Tyler Paxton, Colby Paxton and Chaz Paxton; his brother, Dickie Paxton, of Rosman; and his sister, Katherine Gainer and husband, Tom, of Pisgah Forest.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 10, at Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a favorite charity.
