The transition from a principal of an elementary school to Rosman Middle School has caused this summer to be both busy and exciting. Having opportunities all summer to speak with students, parents, staff and other Rosman community members about what Rosman Middle School means to them has been a fun part of these months. The threads of these conversations focused on family and community, while there is always a proud and strong emphasis on teaching our students and raising the future of our county. That is why I am proud to be a principal at Rosman Middle School, knowing that the students that will soon be in the halls of our school will one day be the leaders of our community and world. I want to enable staff, students and the greater community to reach those visions.

My children, Caroline and Franklin, will be be continuing their elementary education, and my wonderful and caring wife, Heather, will be working in a local preschool - so education is often the subject of dinnertime conversation. My college degrees are in education from Appalachian State and a master's in school administration from Western Carolina University. This will be my 16th year in education and I still love the experience of coming to school everyday. Outside of school, I enjoy playing with my children, especially on the basketball court, reading for pleasure, and watching football with family and friends. I have had the pleasure of working in Transylvania County Schools as a teacher, assistant principal and principal.
