Anglers Worry About Otter Impact - Brevard NC

Local anglers are worried about the increasing impact river otters have on the trout population. Thanks to being captured on camera, otters are cleaning out the deeper holes hiding the bigger fish on the Green River headwaters, for one, and then disappear for months at a time, according to Sandy Schenck, owner of Green River Preserve. The otters then come back and repeat the same behavior, according to Schenck.
