Study Looked At River Quality - Brevard NC

A new study recently published about the health of the Davidson River has revealed that some effluent from the Bobby N. Setzer State Fish Hatchery is negatively impacting aquatic life downstream, but as the river flows on, its health improves. Excessive algae growth in the river across from the Looking Glass Rock trailhead is also mentioned in the report.

U.S. Forest Service officials say the amount of effluent being discharged is within the limits, and the report, which was jointly funded by the nonprofit Trout Unlimited and the Forest Service, has been evaluated and approved by the agen...
