James Richard Daniel

James Richard Daniel, of Brevard, passed peacefully from this earth Aug. 21, 2018, in Mission Hospital, after a brief illness.

Born Aug. 1, 1967, he loved all things old Miami, from the ocean to the Dolphins, from stone crabs to the Canes.

He graduated from Westminster Christian School. His college experience included Johnson and Wales Culinary Institute in Charleston, S.C., where he honed his passion for cooking.

He lived an adventurous life, including serving in the Coast Guard, crewing for an Alaskan fishing boat, and cheffing for spectacular restaurants.

He is survived by his daughter, Karina Ellis; grandchildren, Fisher and Reese; sisters, Rhonda and Karen; parents, Jeanne and Dick; and nine nieces and nephews, who considered him the fun big brother.

A memorial service celebrating Richard’s lifelong faith in Jesus Christ was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, in Brevard.
