In the quiet, stillness of the night, I hear children crying for their mothers, wanting only the comfort of her arms around them. I see agony on mothers’ faces, exhausted from the pain of being separated from their children, willing to forsake asylum, giving up any hopes for a better life in the United States, praying only to be reunited with their children.

I see the faces of people worried about how they will pay for health insurance. Parents fearful of losing coverage for their children with pre-existing con-ditions; the middle class finding it more difficult to pay the high premiums...
