My position regarding the history of American railroads rates very high. Our country prospered because of the inroads railroads made in developing small towns like Brevard.

“Old stations,” for the most part, still have their charm, old charm that includes rails still embedded in the pavement with just the rail tops showing proof it really was once a busy railroad station. Many have an old rail car historically refurnished for the era when the station had its greatest use.

The best refurbished station we have seen was the one in Omaha, Neb. It is free to visit. They have cast bronze...
