Vote No On School Bond

If the $68 million school bond passes, the tax rate will increase about 11 cents per $100. Current tax rate is slightly over 51 cents per $100, so if the bond passes our taxes will go up a whopping 21.5 percent. Additional monies will be needed for a new courthouse or renovations, $30 million additional school needs, and, according to County Manager Laugh-ter, “in the future the county will need to levy a tax increase to fund services that are outpacing revenue.”
