Local Marines Celebrate Marine Corps' Birthday - Brevard NC

Eighty Transylvania County Marines and their guests marked the 243rd birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps at a gathering held at the Brevard American Legion Hall on Sat. Nov. 10. It was a pot-luck version of the annual celebrations held at Marine posts and stations throughout the world.

Self-styled as the Mountain Marines, this particular group has been meeting for 24 years and was chaired by Lt. Col. Lee McMinn (retired).
