Students Meet Veterans And Learn History - Brevard NC

Judging by these students' faces, WWII veteran Harold Wellington (left) was telling them something interesting.

"Holy cow," said a sixth-grader. "That magazine only cost $1.25. I've never seen one for less than $4.95."

He had just looked at a Life Magazine from 1939 in the library at the WNC Military History Museum.

On Nov. 14, 41 Brevard Academy students toured the eight history rooms from World War I through the War on Terror at the WNC Military History Museum in Brevard. They saw uniforms, letters, weapons, personal items, family photos, newspapers and videos.
