McGaha, Smith Exchange Wedding Vows

Mr. And Mrs. Daniel Smith

Heather McGaha and Daniel Smith, of Fletcher, were united in marriage at 4 p.m. Aug. 25, 2018, at The Paul Porter Center for Performing Arts in Brevard. Rev. Shelly Webb was the officiant.

The bride is the daughter of Rick and Cherie McGaha, and Linda Rice, of Brevard. Her paternal grandparents are Joe and Gail McGaha, of Brevard. She is a graduate of UNC-Asheville and is the Deputy Town Clerk for the town of Laurel Park.

The bridegroom is the son of Rebecca Smith and the late Russell Smith, of Raeford, N.C. His paternal grandfather is Richard Coker of Spruce Pine, N.C. He is a graduate of UNC-Asheville, and works for Buncombe County Schools.

The bride was given away in marriage by her father, Rick McGaha. She wore a tulle A-line dress with illusion tank straps and beaded lace appliques, and a fingertip length veil. She carried a bouquet of purple roses and white hydrangea, wrapped in a piece of the bridegroom's late maternal grandmother's wedding dress.

The matron of honor was Nicole Moman, sister of the bride, of Lake Toxaway. She wore a floral design purple and pink gown. Her flowers were purple roses and white hydrangea.

Joshua Coker, cousin of the groom, of Fayetteville, N.C., was the best man.

Calvin Moman, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.

The reception, a sit-down dinner catered by Brevard College, was held at the Paul Porter Center for Performing Arts. The cake was three tiers; the top, hummingbird, middle, carrot, and bottom, red velvet with cream cheese icing, provided by Blue Ridge Bakery.

All flowers for the wedding and the reception were provided by Frank Hardin of Hardin's Gardens. Paula Roberts Photography captured moments the couple will forever cherish.

The couple will honeymoon in the Dominican Republic in spring, 2019, and will reside in Fletcher.
