A Welcome Shelter From The Storm - Brevard NC

Though movies and television shows in popular culture often tell a story of people turning on each other after the modern conveniences of society break down, in Transylvania County, citizens, county officials and law enforcement have demon-strated that people can come together instead.

Earlier this week at the Parks and Recreation center behind Pisgah Forest Elementary, Rob Blake, a planner and evaluator for the Transylvania County Health Department, assisted in checking people in need into the Red Cross-sponsored shelter as the impact of Winter Storm Diego brought people to the facility....
