For 50 years, the tableau of the nativity scene at Bethlehem has been viewed on the hill of Brevard Wesleyan Church off North Broad Street during the Christmas season.

The congregation's homage to the birth of Jesus Christ has become a tradition that people now have come to expect, explains Cheryl Walkup, who is a congregation member and on the Brevard Wesleyan Church Nativity Scene Committee.

This year it can be seen from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 20, 21 and 22.

"Throughout the years, it's had different impacts for different reasons," Walkup said.
