Alexa Broadbent Finishes Master's Studies At Miami - Brevard NC

Brevard native and current Hilton Head Island, S.C. resident Alexa Broadbent has been applying the tools of science, education and conservation to become a leader in the conservation community. In mid-December 2018, Broadbent is expected to conclude her master's course of study earning a Master of Arts (MA) in biology from Miami University through Project Dragonfly.

As a part of the Global Field Program Master's Program, Broadbent traveled to Belize, Borneo and Namibia and conducted projects significant to the Hilton Head Island area. She is currently a naturalist at Outside Hilton Head where she guides educational kayak and paddle board tours through the May River marshlands in Palmetto Bluff, located in Bluffton and Broad Creek on Hilton Head Island.

Alexa attended Pisgah Forest Elementary School, Brevard Academy and graduated from high school at Carolina Day School. She attended James Cook University in Australia and obtained her bachelor's degree in biology from Roanoke College in Virginia.

Alexa's family includes her parents, Drs. Andrew and Rebecca Broadbent of Penrose, and sister and brother-in-law, Rachel Broadbent and Jack Figueroa of Brevard.
